I have created this blog for you my fellow “footloose shutterbugs”. A boomer myself, I have had a lifelong love affair with traveling. I was fortunate to travel regularly in my professional life but it is soooo much better when it is purely for fun and adventure. In this blog, you will be able to enjoy great discussions about travel destinations, fashion tips, product reviews and guest articles from fellow travelers. I am a street photographer by nature so in addition to more traditional travel photos you will also see candid shots of ordinary people living everyday lives- a glimpse into the culture that makes each country unique and special. So sit back, relax and enjoy the trip.
About me
Hi, I am Kathy and I am the footloose shutterbug. I started this blog so I could channel my creative juices into the two things I am most passionate about (other than my family of course) travel and photography.
Six years ago I picked up a camera really for the first time and almost instantly knew that photography was what I truly wanted to do with the second half of my life. Yup, my Aha moment.
Still working, the demands of my career and family left me little time to spend on my photography. Whenever I had the opportunity, I would pick up my camera to experiment or go to a class that would increase my knowledge or talk with other photographers about what inspires them. Truth is I am still learning and still loving it.
Life radically changed 18 months ago when I had the opportunity to retire. Oh happy day, no more 9-10 hour work days, time sensitive projects to complete or implementing strategies to increase the bottom line. At last, checking items off the bucket list was a reality and I was going to savor every minute of it.
First on the list; a photography class in Paris. Why Paris, well several years earlier, I had gone to a presentation made by a local photographer. Among other things, she discussed her life as a photographer and how she successfully built her business. She grew up in France and several times per year she returns to teach photography classes there. I was hooked. I had to do this, so I set my plan in motion.
Recently, I checked that one off my bucket list. You can read more about my adventures in the first entry of my blog. I hope you will join me as I travel the world.
